Facilitation

There are times when training and coaching are not appropriate because what is needed is an open, focused discussion to ensure a real understanding of the priorities of as many members as possible. Senior executives often need to work together and with their teams to decide what to do and then how to get it done and these groups may sometimes benefit from using a facilitator. The most relevant, realistic and flexible strategies to decide on and address an organization's or group's priorites are developed and implemented from the active participation of members. Ongoing contributions usually do not come from training but when beliefs and opinions are solicited and valued. In our work as facilitators we work with groups of senior executives to help them clarify what results they want to achieve together and how they want to achieve them. By not expressing a particular point of view, except to play Devil's advocate, we encourage full participation, promote mutual understanding and cultivate shared responsibility. Our role is to enable the group to function effectively and make high-quality decisions by contributing structure and process.
